This course will help students learn to work with their “stubborn” dogs in a way that is fun and engaging.
We all know that dogs have been bred for varying purposes. Some have been developed for a very long time to work directly with human beings and take instruction from us: gun dogs, herding dogs and some working dogs are examples. These animals are designed to be highly biddable and want to work. And then there are the rest of us. Breeds that have been developed to work independently, to make their own decisions, don’t really need us to do their jobs. They know what they are supposed to be doing. And while this makes them excellent in the field it can make silly things like dog shows a bit more challenging. Who are we to tell them what to do? The trick is to teach your “impossible” dog to want to show for you, rather than getting into a head to head with an animal.
